Last weekend I was in São Paulo for the PHP Experience conference. Here is a wrap-up of what happened and some cool pictures of the event 🙂

Last weekend, more precisely on Saturday (25), the 2015 edition of the PHP Experience conference happened in São Paulo, Brazil. I had the pleasure to be there for my first Brazilian PHP conference, happily presenting a talk in portuguese – which actually made me more nervous than I usually get, since I’m not so used to 😀 But maybe presenting in Portuguese was not the main reason of my jitters – the audience was huge. About 1 thousand people!

We had Cal Evans opening the event with his talk Going Pro – Thoughts on becoming a professional programmer, and Paul Jones closing it with Modernizing PHP applications – both excellent talks in English with simultaneous translation to Portuguese, so everybody could enjoy and learn from two of the greatest speakers in the international PHP community.

My talk was From Development to Production with Vagrant and Ansible, where I presented an efficient workflow using these tools to facilitate the transition from dev to prod and deploy. I really enjoyed it 🙂 Slides (pt-BR) are available here.

The event was filled with excellent talks from great names of the Brazilian PHP community. It was great to meet so many important developers and enablers of our community in Brazil! Epic people I only knew from social networks and forums, like Augusto Pascutti, Alexandre Gaigalas (a.k.a alganet) and Alex Piaz just to name a few.

A big thank you to the organizers, and hope to see you again next year!
